چکیده

TRACT (Continue on reverse if necessary and identify by block number, ~.rcalculate the vacuum-field radiation pressure on two parallel, perfecting conducting plates. The modes outside the plates push the plates together, those confined between the plates push them apart, and the net effect is the well-known Casimir force. Implications of this result for the form of the Poynting vector in quantum electrodynamics are discussed. ..

Electromechanical Performance of NEMS Actuator Fabricated from Nanowire under quantum vacuum fluctuations using GDQ and MVIM

The Casimir attraction can significantly interfere the physical response of nanoactuators. The intensity of the Casimir force depends on the geometries of interacting bodies. The present paper is dedicated to model the influence of the Casimir attraction on the electrostatic stability of nanoactuators made of cylindrical conductive nanowire/nanotube. An asymptotic solution, based on path-integr...

Dynamic and Static Pull-in instability of electrostatically actuated nano/micro membranes under the effects of Casimir force and squeezed film damping

In the current study, the effects of Casimir force and squeeze film damping on pull-in instability and dynamic behavior of electrostatically actuated nano and micro electromechanical systems are investigated separately. Linear elastic membrane theory is used to model the static and dynamic behavior of the system for strip, annular and disk geometries. Squeeze film damping is modeled using nonli...

Gravitation of the Casimir Effect and the Cosmological Non-Constant

Whereas the total energy in zero-point fluctuations of the particle physics vacuum gives rise to the cosmological constant problem, differences in the vacuum give rise to real physical phenomena, such as the Casimir effect. Hence we consider the zero-point energy bound between two parallel conducting plates — proxy for a solid slice of cosmological constant — as a convenient laboratory in which...

Vacuum Fluctuations and the Casimir Force

The Casimir Force was predicted in 1948 by Dutch physicist Hendrick Casimir. Casimir realized that when calculating the energy between two parallel uncharged conducting plates, only those virtual photons whose wavelengths fit an integral number of times into the gap should be counted. Each mode contributes to a pressure on the plates, and the infinite number of modes outside the plates is in so...
